Why is it when we are confronted with resistance concerning our faith we have a tendency to pull back feeling ill-equipped to answer the questions that are asked? It usually involves a deficiency in our knowledge of the Word of God. The Apostle Paul calls for disciples of Jesus to do our best in presenting ourselves to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Most of us can remember when we lost something that was precious to us. And, if we were fortunate enough to find it--we also know the joy and satisfaction attached to such a discovery. Likewise our text, Luke 15:1-10, informs us that every time a lost sinner is found and surrenders his or her life to Christ--there is rejoicing in heaven because God wishes for no one to perish. This Sunday we discover what it means to be lost in God's eyes--and likewise, what it means to be found.
